Pubscout ("we", "us", "our") operates the Pubscout Chrome extension and the pubscout.app website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.
Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and (optionally) your name. We use this to manage your account, deliver the Service, and send you transactional communications.
Usage data: We collect anonymised usage events (e.g. which features you use, how often you run searches) to improve the product and personalise your experience. No Amazon page content is stored on our servers from your browsing.
Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full payment details. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Amazon page data (extension only): The extension reads product and search result data from Amazon pages you visit, solely to compute and display metrics inside the extension overlay. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use a feature that requires it (e.g. saving a niche).
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
All third-party processors are required to handle data in accordance with applicable data protection law.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
The pubscout.app website uses only essential session cookies for authentication. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The Chrome extension does not use cookies.
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, a Postgres database hosted on a private VPS with JWT-based access control, and Stripe for PCI-compliant payment handling. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
